First Responders Called To Jersey Shore Jet Skier 'In Distress' (Developing)

First responders were called to a jet skier in distress on the Jersey Shore, according to developing and unconfirmed reports.

The call for help came in at about 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5 near Thomas A. Mathis Bridge in Toms River, initial reports said.

The call came from a passerby who did not stay on location, a Toms River police spokeswoman said.

The call appears to be unfounded, she said.
